The PhillyIn Hot or Not. A fun and silly look at what’s HOT and what’s NOT in the city of Philadelphia right now! Got some of your own? We’d love to hear them!
i know you won’t publish this, because you guys only publish positive comments (one of the many, many failings of this blog, or site, or whatever the hell you call this mess), but seriously. stop. this hot or not list is the worst thing i’ve ever read, and i read a third of jennifer weiner book once. it’s like you guys were plopped into the city from cherry hill yesterday. how can you be so utterly clueless about anything that’s actually going on in this city? who exactly is this site for? 29-year-old parapalegics who are incapable of leaving their rittenhouse condos? who have never so much as taken a single solitary step outside in the city of philadelphia? anyhoo, if you were smart, you would publish this comment and get some discourse going. my bet, though: you’ll delete it, say “he’s not our demo anyway”, splash on some drakkar and an ed hardy tee and saunter down to G where you’ll drown your complete lack of taste (sartorially, culturally, epicurially speaking) in redbull and vodka after redbull and vodka.
@bob… I feel like the problem with this list (and this site) isn’t who it is aimed at (after all, yuppies* deserve blogs too), but that it is based upon the false assumption that there are actually fun/interesting/hot things to do for yuppie-types, or at least that there is some fluctuation between what is hot and what is not. This list would have been just as accurate TWO FULL YEARS ago, with the possible exceptions of Arthur Kade (Really?) and Strongbox (Hardly counts, since it’s never open).
*I don’t mean to use this term pejoratively, I am basically a yuppie/hipster/bro myself.

First of all, thanks for reading the site. Keep in mind, we are still new and quite a work in progess. So, there is a lot of ground to cover still. The PhillyIn Hot or Not is not meant to be taken seriously, it’s really just for a quick laugh at some Philly-isms, but also a chance for readers to participate. I’d love to know what you guys think are hot and not in the city and that’s why we ask for feedback.
Is there a place you think is hot that we’re missing out on? What neighborhood do you want us to visit for I.Y.N.? What bar do you think is the best in the city? Who do you want to see interviewed In-Focus? We’re hoping to showcase many different sides of Philadelphia and would love to hear what you have to say. PhillyIn works best when we not only express ourselves and our own personalities, but get insight from our readers.
