Led by the legendary Debbie Apalucci and current director, Dayna Hafetz Nadler, more than 50 alumni dancers from over a decade will be performing at half-time for SIXERS DANCER ALMUNI NIGHT. It’s On!!!

Last week I got a text from “a friend” telling me how great I looked on the court at the Sixers game. NEWS FLASH people! I haven’t been on the Sixers Dance Team since 2007! Now, I know there are a lot of gorgeous girls on the team, but yours truly hasn’t been on the court in 3 years…. Well folks, save the date, because on March 15th, your favorite (or maybe not so favorite) Sixers Dancer is heading back to the Wachovia Center! Led by the legendary Debbie Apalucci and current director, Dayna Nadler Hafetz, more than 50 alumni dancers from over a decade will be performing at half-time for SIXERS DANCER ALMUNI NIGHT. It’s On!!!

This has been a GREAT experience thus far, but Monday’s rehearsal really sealed the deal for me. Why? Well, because I was finally reunited with my FAVORITE dancers in the world … Kate, Amber R. and Miss Kimmie Gee. These are MY GIRLS! We all made the squad back in 2005, and the bond that we built as rookies has only grown over the years (despite the fact that we have gone our separate ways).

Even though I moved to Florida for a while, Kate (who’s still on the dance team 5 years later, bless her heart) and I have still managed to remain inseparable. Hence our collaborations on phillyin.com, our On-Demand shows: Dance Club Divas and Game Time Girls, a variety of dancing, modeling, and promotional jobs, and a few other tricks we still have up our sleeves.

Amber R. will always remain a part of me. How could I ever forget a girl who shares my name, favors me, is a fellow Virgo and who showed up to the final audition with MY DRESS?! She’s a fierce salsa dancer, a middle school dance teacher, a super mom and trusted confidant.

And then there’s Miss Kimmie Gee, who moved to Atlanta and booked a world tour with Beyonce!!! And yet, has somehow stayed true to the humble, caring and sweet person that I adored when we first started car-pooling in 2005.

Its funny, I think we would all agree that after all this time, some things never change. Like arriving an hour early to practice to make sure we know the routines (and avoid getting called out by Debbie!), gossiping with the girls during every second of our “downtime”, and a sore back the day after all the pumping, pushing and thrusting.

Words can not describe how great it feels to be back with my girls and over 50 other fabulous, accomplished, beautiful dancers. While I can’t sit here and give the scoop on every single one, I can assure you that the half-time performance on March 15th is going to be “BLAZIN” (inside joke). You don’t want to miss this one! To get tickets go to

Hey AJ, good post. It’s a shame that i live in Spain. Next monday will be a great day for sixers fans, I don’t know better dancers than Amber, AJ, Kate and my friend Kimmie. Thanks for those pics and video, i understood you without problems, so my english is not as bad as i thought, hehe.

By the way, this site is really cool, I love everything about Philly, is my favorite place and every year i try to visit it.

  3. I don’t like beyonce because she always does bad things , altough i like her voice
