A Little Bit About The Little Candy Shoppe //

1030 N. American St. - Liberties Walk
Philadelphia, PA 19123

This “store with the hot pink doors” is a mother and daughter operated candy boutique in the middle of Liberties Walk. Robin and Aliza Nahama are the owners and self-proclaimed chocoholics. The whimsically decorated store includes quotes on the walls such as, “If there’s no chocolate in heaven, I’m not going.” and “Ideas should be clear and chocolate-thick” but the store is much more than just the decadent gourmet chocolates. They also serve hand-scooped Basset’s ice cream, penny candy, and novelty goods. Call for special orders.

Someone pinch me. Am I dreaming? I DID mention I had a super sweet tooth right? This store makes me smile. From the girly décor, to the cute novelty books and penny candies, it just gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside. And the oh-so-sweet mother and daughter team make me want to call my mom and open a candy shop…Ok, let’s not go that far, but the place is beautifully decorated and carries some really neat items (I noticed they have the famed “Serendipity 3 Frozen Hot Chocolate” packets from the store in NYC. I’m tempted to try, but still think I should wait to try the real thing once). What’s really tempting? Belgium waffles with ice cream. Wow. The penny candy is cute, but it gets expensive quick, I think I’ll get my snickers at CVS, but I’ll be back for specialty chocolate and maybe some unexpected specialties.

I am secretly in love with the daughter that works there. If you are reading this,  facebook me. ;)

The décor was just lovely. I’m not much of a sweet tooth, but there’s something about the presentation that made me want to try a little of everything. The ice cream looked scrumptious, I adore chocolate covered fruit, AND they had candy cigarettes, CLASSIC. When I was in elementary school I loved candy cigarettes, they made me feel like a rebel. This shoppe was too cute, I’ll be back.

If you are looking for candy, ice cream, or any other type of sweets in a family owned store, stop by this place on Northern Liberties Walk. The owners (mother and daughter) are very nice and are extremely helpful.

I am a sucker for fine chocolates, but am always trying something new in there! They also have really great gifts, no need to run around town shopping, they have a gift for EVERY occasion, so it’s an all around great boutique!
The mother and daughter who own this shop could not be any more sweet, they are so welcoming and always very helpful (on top of that, they are a gorgeous pair)!!!
