You had me at cheesecake! Just kidding, I love love love Darling’s and it actually has very little to do with the cheesecake (though I highly recommend the Pumpkin). Darling’s looks like a diner, but it’s not your typical diner fare. It’s open late, its BYOB, the food is delish, and the owner, Harry, rocks! He even let me taste-test a new recipe once. How cool is that? Not to mention, they have THE best pierogies in the city, no joke. I’ve contemplated getting 2 orders, just for myself, that’s how good they are. I also highly recommend Darling’s for breakfast, the Hipster’s Paradise (for my fellow sweet tooth’s, good ol nutella) and Darling’s Eggs Benedict with Home Fries (i had it with the crab-meat, next time i may try the beef). This evening me and Amber-Joi split the Crab Stuffed Shrimp over Risotto (a special) and a salad. They crab/risotto dish really sealed the deal for my love affair with Darling’s. It was the first “Entree” dish I tried, and it was so scrumptious I couldn’t stop eating it! Simply put, Darling’s is my favorite place to eat in Northern Liberties, any time of day! Hmmm…..craving it right now….be right back!

Darling’s may be a late night diner, but the food is good any time of the day. At the end of any given night downtown, Chris and I usually end up at Darling’s for a quick meal of chicken fingers and fries before keeping the party going at Club Duber. It’s a great pit stop after a night of drinking, or to continue drinking because it is BYO, which is very unique when it comes to diners. The atmosphere and staff are also very inviting which only adds to the diner feel.

I started with the Pierogies. Delicious!!! Then for my entrée I had the Crab Stuffed Shrimp over Risotto. Smashing!!! The food was excellent, the servers were friendly and it’s BYO. I love Darlings!!! Please note that the Crab Stuffed Shrimp was a special and may not always be available… but, when it is … DEFINITELY INDULGE!

This is the default place my friends and I go after a night out, or grabbing breakfast in the morning. The egg station is the best deal, comes with eggs, toast and hash browns. I get an extra egg and a side of bacon. Great way to start of the day with a solid breakfast. The apps are good as well, you can’t go wrong with the chicken fingers. The staff is friendly and the environment is cool, definitely a cool place to meet with friends and grab something to eat.
